Insurance calculator: three-step progress bar, live annual premium, and a checklist of what is covered

Challenges

What was difficult, and how I solved it

  1. Making insurance readable

    Challenge
Aviation insurance is a dry subject full of legal terms. Visitors need to understand what is covered before they ask for an offer.
    Solution
The website presents each type of insurance visually and in plain language, with the legal detail available one step further instead of up front.
  2. Comparing policies without reading the small print

    Challenge
Customers wanted to compare cover, contract variants, and prices, which normally means reading the full terms and conditions.
    Solution
The calculator updates the annual premium live as people change the sum insured, the variant (Basis or Top), and the contract term, next to a checklist of what is included. The full terms stay available as documents.
  3. From calculation to offer request without manual work

    Challenge
An offer request should not create extra work for the broker's team, and the customer should not have to enter anything twice.
    Solution
A three-step flow (compare, enter details, request offer) runs on a Node.js backend. It sends the customer a personalised email with their calculation and the relevant PDF documents, and the team receives a complete request.
